The CZ.NIC association, administrator of the Czech top-level domain, will decrease the annual registration fee for holding a .CZ domain as of 1 February 2011. The wholesale price for domain registration will drop from the current CZK 155 excl. VAT to CZK 140 excl. VAT.
Prague, 29 December 2010 – The CZ.NIC association, administrator of the Czech top-level domain, will decrease the annual registration fee for holding a .CZ domain as of 1 February 2011. The wholesale price for domain registration will drop from the current CZK 155 excl. VAT to CZK 140 excl. VAT.
“The price of .CZ domains will be reduced after exactly 13 months. This step is part of our medium-range strategy,” said Ondřej Filip, Executive Director of CZ.NIC. ”The valid pricelist can be found on the CZ.NIC website as of today.”
The current wholesale cost of the Czech national domain is CZK 155 excl. VAT, a price that has been in effect since January 2010, when CZ.NIC reduced the price of the domain from CZK 190 excl. VAT. The previous price reduction (from CZK 400 excl. VAT to CZK 190 excl. VAT) was connected with the transition to the new FRED registration system. This system was developed by CZ.NIC as an open-source solution and in addition to the Czech administrator is also used, for example, by national domain register administrators in the Faroe Islands and Estonia.
