The IETF has approved a new Internet standard. Its co-author is Libor Peltan from CZ.NIC
RFC 9432 describes a method for transferring a set of configured DNS zones between primary and secondary authoritative DNS servers using so-called Catalog Zones.
Libor Peltan, the programmer involved in the development of the Knot DNS authoritative server, is a co-author of a new Internet standard (RFC 9432) released this month by the IETF. RFC 9432 describes a method for transferring a set of configured DNS zones between primary and secondary authoritative DNS servers using so-called Catalog Zones.
"I consider the cooperated interoperable implementation of Catalog zones together with the published RFC document a great success for the DNS community, the users, and also myself. This looks like this is the end of a story, but there is much more to do. We have already made some improvements in the Knot DNS implementation based on the feedback of the growing number of users of this feature, and I’m sure there will be more,"* writes Libor Peltan in his more detailed article on the CZ.NIC blog.
