The CZ.NIC Labs will be headed by Josef Chomyn, long-time Chairman of the Board of NIX.CZ
Ladislav Lhotka, the current head of the CZ.NIC Labs, will become the CZ.NIC Technical Partner, who will participate in selected projects, especially in this department.
Starting September 12, Josef Chomyn is the new head of the R&D department of the CZ.NIC Association and also an executive of the Czech national domain administrator. Ladislav Lhotka, the current head of the CZ.NIC Labs, will become the CZ.NIC Technical Partner, who will participate in selected projects, especially in this department. For many years, Josef Chomyn has been a member of the board of directors of the Czech neutral interconnection node NIX.CZ, first as a member of the board of directors and then as its chairman. Josef Chomyn comes to CZ.NIC from the position of a council member of the Czech Telecommunications Office.
“Ladislav Lhotka ran one of the largest departments of the CZ.NIC Association for more than five years. Under his leadership, our laboratories have developed world-famous projects, including the Knot DNS server, Knot Resolver and the BIRD routing daemon. I would like to thank Ladislav Lhotka for his work with the project teams of the laboratories,” said Ondřej Filip, CEO of CZ.NIC. “Josef Chomyn is one of the respected figures of the Czech Internet community. When I learned about his interest in taking over our laboratories from Ladislav Lhotka, I was very pleased and did not hesitate to employ him for this vacant position. I believe that his experience and ideas will be beneficial and inspiring for the colleagues from the Labs.”
