After intensive consultations with the security forces of the state and on the basis of the recommendation of the Government of the Czech Republic, the CZ.NIC Association blocked selected disinformation websites that threaten our national security. This extraordinary step was taken in response to the military attack of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation against sovereign Ukraine and the disinformation campaign that has accompanied it.
“The aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has long been accompanied by a disinformation campaign in a number of Internet media that use the Czech national domain extension. Because such media contain information that is intentionally not based on the truth and demonstrably incites the spread of fabricated rumors, messages and instability in society, we have decided, after consultations with the highest representatives of the state, to block these significant disinformation internet media,” said Ondřej Filip, CEO of the CZ.NIC Association.
