CZ.NIC Association introduces the new mobile application „MojeID Klíč“. It is designed to make it even easier for mojeID users to access public administration services available through the National Identification Authority (NIA) and replaces the existing “mojeID Authenticator” app that had been used since 2016. The new app meets all security requirements and has been accredited by the Ministry of the Interior at the level of guarantee “significant”. The “MojeID Klíč” app was created in cooperation with Wultra and is available free of charge on Google Play and App Store.
Until now, mojeID users have had an option to access public administration services using a security key with FIDO L1 and above certification, either using Android and Windows Hello system keys or using an external hardware key that can be connected via USB, NFC or Bluetooth. Now they are offered another alternative in the form of MojeID Klíč, which is based on two-factor authentication in the form of a mobile device application.
“Offering users a mobile app that would not only provide two-factor authentication for mojeID in general, but also provide the ability to log in to eGovernment services was another logical step and we are pleased that together with Wultra experts, we have managed to find a solution that meets high security requirements. From the beginning, we have wanted our service to be safe, flexible and suitable for a wide range of users. This is confirmed by the fact that we are currently the only entity that has received accreditation from the Ministry of the Interior for its electronic identification tools in all three levels of the guarantee – low, significant and high,” says Jaromír Talíř, technical partner of CZ.NIC.
“We are very happy that CZ.NIC chose our solution for the project of the new MojeID Klíč application and had it accredited by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic under its prestigious mojeID brand. A key factor was undoubtedly an open-source approach to software creation, which is rooted in the very core of the operation of our company. We hope that users will like the MojeID Klíč mobile app as a means of proving identity in the digital world, and that it will greatly simplify their access to eGovernment services and more,” adds Petr Dvořák, CEO of Wultra.
More information about the new mobile application “mojeID Klíč” will be available today at the Conference Internet and Technology (21), which is dedicated to electronic identities and mojeID. The “MojeID Klíč” app is available on Google Play and App Store. You can learn more about mojeID and its benefits at www.mojeid.cz.
