In October, researchers from the CZ.NIC Labs carried out an analysis of more than one million registered second-level domains under the Czech national .CZ domain, in order to classify them. As part of the ADAM project, which is used for systematic data processing, these domains were subjected to scanning and subsequent evaluation. Based on the results, it was found that 80 percent of second-level domains are classified as active, i.e. they host a non-parked website or a mail server has been configured for them. In addition, colleagues also focused on domain length, DNS traffic, or domains from a registrar perspective.
A detailed report on the progress of the entire research will be presented at the online conference called Internet and Technology (20). It will be held by the CZ.NIC Association on November 11 and 12, and those interested can register for it at the event’s website. Individual statistics and comments are then available on the ADAM project website.
