Until November 2, fans of the #martyisdead can cast their vote for their favorite series, which competes in this year’s Crystal Magnifier – Czech Internet Award, in the online video category. The eight-episode thriller, which premiered in last October, shows the other side of the Internet and tackles bullying in cyberspace. The series also became a success at the Serial Killer Festival, where it won the award for the best Central and Eastern European web series, and now heads to several international festivals (SerienCamp, Austin Film Festival, Marseille Web Fest). #martyisdead was created in cooperation with online television Mall.TV, Bionaut company and the CZ.NIC association (as part of the Safely on the Net project).
“We are very happy that the #martyisdead series enjoyed such popularity among viewers. We see the nomination as an appreciation of our work and we are grateful for the support and for the fact that Internet users are not indifferent to this topic,” said Martin Kožíšek, coordinator of the Safely on the Net project, commenting on the nomination of the series. “Since the figures that motivated us to bring this topic to screens are frightening, we are happy to participate in the continuation of the series, which will be called #Annaismissing and thus make the Internet a little safer”.
Viewers can vote for the #martyisdead series on the Crystal Magnifier poll page (online video category). Episodes of the series, as well as other information on the topic of cyberbullying, can be found on the Safe on the Net project website.
