200,000 domain names under .CZ

Association CZ.NIC, z.s.p.o., a registrar of domain names at the second level under the .cz domain, would like to announce that the number of domains registered as of 5 May 2005 reached 200,000.

As of 5 May 2005, the number of domains registered under the .cz domain reached 200,000. An absolute majority of them (199,000) are registered with commercial registrars. The number of registered domains shows a constantly growing tendency, reaching 17% year-on-year.

The .cz domain reports the total number of domains comparable to that of the national domains in the countries of the Visegrad Four which joined the EU last year. The approximate numbers of second-level domains registered in these countries are as follows: Slovakia: 75,000, Poland: 180,000 and Hungary: 180,000.
