Three important Czech partners – Brno University of Technology, CESNET and CZ.NIC – have joined the prestigious European project SPARTA. The aim of this scientific initiative, supported by Horizon 2020, is to create a new competence network aimed at developing cooperation on cyber security-oriented research and innovation.
Brno University of Technology is in charge of one of the key education activities in the project. The CESNET Association plays an important role in identifying incidents and sharing information on them. The competencies of these partners are complemented by the CZ.NIC Association, the operator of the National Security Team CSIRT.CZ and the main Czech partner of the European initiative focusing on activities related to online children’s safety.
The SPARTA consortium, headed by the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), is a consortium of more than forty leading cyber security organizations. Together with the so-called SPARTA Associates, represented predominantly by commercial firms, their common goal is to think about a new way of research, innovation and training in cyber security in Europe.
By sharing the experience and excellent results of each partner, future research areas will be identified to help Europe respond to new security challenges and contribute to creating a new strategy that will give the old continent a leading position in the world.
