CZ.NIC has become a full member of INHOPE
The proper membership in INHOPE came as the culmination of a two-year process during which CZ.NIC had to meet a number of international standards.
The CZ.NIC Association managing the STOPonline.cz service, which can be used to report illegal content, has become a regular member of the INHOPE International Association. It brings together mainly European operators of national lines for reporting illegal content.
The proper membership in INHOPE came as the culmination of a two-year process during which CZ.NIC had to meet a number of international standards. Since STOPonline.cz was established, its analysts have received almost 2,000 complaints, of which 96 were handed over to the Police of the Czech Republic for further investigation. Another nearly 700 were handed over directly to the ISPs, especially to web hosting providers.
“The operation of the hotline is another activity that helps make the Internet a safer place that respects not only the law, but also basic human values. In addition to the national security team CSIRT.CZ, STOPonline.cz is another concrete project, on which the CZ.NIC Association cooperates with state institutions," says Ondřej Filip, CEO of CZ.NIC.
Thanks to the SIC CZ project supported by the European Commission as part of the Connecting Europe Facility, CZ.NIC started to operate the hotline on July 1, 2016. In February of 2017, CZ.NIC concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation with the National Center against Organized Crime (NCOZ). In June of last year, STOPonline.cz obtained basic membership in INHOPE. Since the Police of the Czech Republic terminated its service of electronic cybercrime reporting in May 2018, STOPonline.cz has served as the only tool to report cybercrime, especially child pornography.
You can report illegal online content through the website STOPonline.cz, the mobile app or the telephone number +420 910 101 010. The report can be sent anonymously.
