Prague, 16 March 2017 – Turris Omnia has successfully entered the general market and will now appear at the global information technologies fair at CeBIT, which is taking place from the 20th to 24th of March in Hannover, Germany. CZ.NIC, the association backing the development of the secure European router, will have its presentation in Hall 12.

The visitors can look forward not just to the router itself, but also to meeting the project lead, Patrick Zandl, as well as the community manager, Václav Zbránek. Representatives of the sales and marketing team will also be present. As a bonus, visitors will be able to get a 15% discount voucher for the purchase of Turris Omnia at a selected online store.

“Turris Omnia has gone a long way and the time has come to push it even further. As part of our sales and marketing activities, we decided to present the router at CeBIT to introduce it not only to individual users concerned about the security of their household or company networks, but also to distributors and other potential partners,” said Patrick Zandl, the head of the Turris project at CZ.NIC.

The origin of Turris Omnia

In 2015, CZ.NIC decided to follow up on its Turris research project and introduced the idea of a secure European router – dubbed Turris Omnia – that would provide consumers with high-level security, automatic software updates and excellent performance. The crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo raised 10 times more money compared to the fixed goal, demonstrating that Internet users were very interested in the device. In 2016, mass production started and by the end of last year, Turris Omnia became available to general consumers through a number of online stores all over Europe.

Turris Omnia offers excellent connectivity, open software and a number of features that ordinary routers only provide in a limited capacity or not at all. The main advantage of Turris Omnia is its high-level security based on automatic updates and additional features developed by CZ.NIC security experts.
