Registrars Received Current Data for Testing the New CZ Domain Registration System

The CZ.NIC association, administrator of the CZ national domain, updated on 22 August the database of CZ domains in the testing version of the new registration system, accessible by all accredited registrars of the Czech national domain. ENUM domain data has also been transferred to the testing system version, meaning that registrars can work with CZ and ENUM domains within a unified system for the first time.
The CZ.NIC association initially made a testing version of their new registration system for CZ domains including complete domain data available to registrars at the beginning of this year's July. The data has now been updated and the complete set of data from the ENUM domain register has been transferred to the same registration system. Registrars can perform all common operations on domains in the testing version of the registration system (registrations, extensions, transfers, cancellations, contact data adjustments etc.), testing the cooperation of their systems with the new CZ and ENUM domain system that will be run by the CZ.NIC association.
"The objective of the domain database update in the testing version of the new registration system was to provide registrars with maximum support while they are preparing to migration to the new system," explained Martin Peterka, Director of Operations at the CZ.NIC association. "The response from registrars testing the registration system with real data is very positive; the registrars are satisfied with the features and functions of the new registration system."
The new registration system for CZ and ENUM domain administration has been developed and is maintained by employees of the CZ.NIC association. Starting with 1 October, the CZ.NIC association takes over the complete administration of the entire registry from an outsourcing partner that ceases to be responsible for the system operation. Migration to the new registration system will mean mainly higher efficiency and considerably lower operation costs of the registry.
"Owners of CZ domains will only benefit from successful migration to the new registration system if the migration is well performed by the registrars themselves," added Ondřej Filip, CEO of the CZ.NIC association. "CZ.NIC therefore actively cooperates with the registrars, providing them with all data needed as well as maximum support for testing their own registration systems."
Additional details on the migration of the CZ domain administration to the new registration system will be continuously published on the website of the CZ.NIC association available at www.nic.cz.
