Prague, May 9, 2016 - Panel discussion, discussions on online safety, presentation on the impact of the lottery law on blocking the Internet or an accompanying program in the form of workshops and seminars – that is a short list of the program of the two-day conference called Internet Technology (IT 16), organized by the Czech national domain administrator CZ.NIC on May 31 and June 1 at the Faculty of Information Technology of CTU in Dejvice, Prague. This is the eleventh time the traditional event dedicated to current Internet issues will take place; its partners are the national peering node NIX.CZ and FIT CTU. The complete conference program, including a registration form and other information, is available at www.nic.cz/it16 starting today.

“The program of our traditional meeting will again be full of interesting topics, lectures and speeches. This year we are going back to a panel discussion, so I would like to invite the members of the Czech Internet community to participate in it. It will be devoted to the European NIS Directive, aiming to respond to a growing number of cyber attacks and to improve cooperation between the various entities at both national and European level. I would also like to highlight the discussions devoted to the Turris Omnia router or projects associated with DNS,” says Ondřej Filip, CEO of CZ.NIC.

The conference program will also include a presentation of the lottery law draft, which directly affects the freedom of access to the Internet. Members of the CZ.NIC-CSIRT and CSIRT.CZ security teams will describe “A day in the life of an analyzer” who uses the Malware Domain Manager to detect malicious codes in websites at the .cz domain. Other speakers will include representatives of NIX.CZ and CESNET, registrars INTERNET CZ, ACTIVE24, WEDOS and Gransy, FIT CTU and FIT of Brno University of Technology or the operator of the Prague pneumatic post.

Those interested in attending the conference can register until May 25 using the form on the conference website. Number of seats in the hall is limited, so organizers recommend an early registration. Admission to the event is CZK 200 per day.
