Login to eAmbulance is now possible with the mojeID account
eAmbulance has enabled scheduling doctor’s appointments online in five regional hospitals in Jihlava, Havlíčkův Brod, Nové město na Moravě, Pelhřimov and Třebíč. During that time, nearly 100,000 appointments have been arranged through the system.
Prague, November 26, 2015 - eAmbulance portal allows residents of Vysočina region to arrange a doctor’s appointment via the Internet. Until now, registration in the system that is currently used by 43,000 people could only take place in person at one of the five regional hospitals. Now it is not necessary to go anywhere. The eAmbulance portal implemented mojeID — the electronic identity service operated by the CZ.NIC Association, the administrator of the Czech national domain.
“The mojeID service is finding its way into public administration. We are pleased that following libraries and electronic services of more than a hundred towns and villages that introduced mojeID, Vysočina region also implements the service, thus opening up a new segment in the field of e-health and ordering systems. We believe that the Vysočina region, which is rightly considered the most technologically advanced region, will be followed by other regions and public institutions,” said Ondřej Filip, CEO of the CZ.NIC Association, which administers the Czech national domain .CZ and has operated the mojeID service since 2010. Furthermore, CZ.NIC also operates the National Security Team CSIRT.CZ.
Since 2012, eAmbulance has enabled scheduling doctor’s appointments online in five regional hospitals in Jihlava, Havlíčkův Brod, Nové město na Moravě, Pelhřimov and Třebíč. During that time, nearly 100,000 appointments have been arranged through the system.
In practice, the innovation means that login using the mojeID account frees its owner from the need to obtain a PIN code for eAmbulance from a particular hospital. On the mojeID webpage, users can find a list of other services that may be used without further authorization (news portals, libraries, travel card vending services, etc.).
Over 16 thousand users residing in the Vysočina region have joined the mojeID service since it was launched. These users can start using the portal right away.
“The mojeID service brings enhanced user convenience when arranging doctor’s appointments, and thus the development of e-government services operated by the Vysočina region. In the future, we are planning to integrate other services with mojeID so that the citizens could conveniently log in to our portals and there was one versatile tool, as is usually the case in developed countries,” added MD. Jiří Běhounek, the Governor of the Vysočina region.
In November 2015, the CZ.NIC Association also opened a special validation center in the Jihlava hospital. There, residents of Vysočina can obtain the highest possible level of mojeID identity verification. It conforms to the European legislation eIDAS and, as a participator in the European project STORK 2.0, provides the same level of credit to the registered identity, as, for example, the electronic Swiss national identity card.
