Registry system of decentralised management of the .cz ccTLD register and Tier1 register of ENUM domains 0.2.4.e164.arpa uses the registration system FRED. Registrars communicate with the registry via standard EPP protocol (pursuant to RFC 3730-3734) with some extensions and changes required by the specific features of the registry. Communication takes place using a SSL secured TCP connection. The description of the communication protocol including the extension as well as the current version of XSD schemes are included in the document entitled Rules of Technical Communication.

Tools for Registrars

Each registrar shall be provided with a tool package including:

• Fully functional client application for the access to the register – interactive command-line client. The client is written in the Python language and can be operated on all systems where the Python interpreter is available;
• Configuration necessary for connecting to the testing instance of DSDng;
• Developer library of the Python language for easier integration into other applications.

Documentation and manuals for each tool are included in the distribution package.

Open testing instance for the .cz zone

For the registrars developing systems for the registration of CZ domains we have prepared an open instance, where it is possible to register domains under the .cz zone. This instance is open for testing to virtually anyone. Open testing instance of the system is accessible via the EPP interface on the server epp.demo.fred.nic.cz.

For the EPP communication, authorisation details included in the files for download have to be used.

To make the testing easier, you can find the current version of the client with the configuration for the access to this instance there as well. Just unzip the archive and run the script fred-client.

CZ.NIC reserves the right to suspend or modify this instance of the system anytime, including a deletion of current data in the register.

Testing instance for accredited .cz registrars

This instance is accessible for existing accredited .cz registrars only. The instance provides the same services concerning the data saved in the testing register as the production instance. The operation of the testing instance is not limited in any way and any system function can be tested. The testing instance of the system is accessible via the EPP interface on the server cz-test.dsdng.nic.cz, port 700.

Access to the testing server is authorised using an SSL certificate and a private SSL key delivered individually to each registrar together with the username and password for login.

For the verification of data saved in the testing database, standard check and info queries via the EPP interface may be used, as well as the following services:

Production instance of the system

The production instance of the DSDng system is accessible via the EPP interface on the server epp.nic.cz port 700.

The access to the production system is allowed from IP addresses defined by a registrar and is setup based on a signed agreement (the setting up includes also a delivery of the SSL certificate, private SSL key and the username and password).

The web whois servicies are available on http://www.nic.cz and http://enum.nic.cz/whois/?lang=en. The whois protocol server is on whois.nic.cz.
