Domain report: in the year 2014 was registered 73,350 .CZ domains

Prague, February 2 2015 — CZ.NIC Association, the administrator of the Czech national domain, presented its traditional summary report, where it highlights some interesting data associated with .CZ domains. Compared to the previous year, in 2014 the number of domains increased by more than six percent; at the end of December, the CZ.NIC register contained 1,173,256 .CZ domain names. Compared with the last year, the number of female holders slightly increased. The countries with the most .CZ domains registered abroad were the Slovak Republic and Germany.
“The average number of domain names registered monthly in 2014 was 22,020. We were very happy to see the increase of the domains with support of IPv6 protocol. Among .CZ domain names, over 23% are available via IPv6, which is 3% more than in 2013,” Ondřej Filip, CEO of the CZ.NIC Association, commented on the Domain Report for 2014.
According to the administrator of the Czech national domain, 474,648 users had a domain name registered in the .CZ zone. Holders with two registered domains amounted to 59,309 and with three registered domains to 20,965. The highest total number of domain names held by single person was 5,297 domains (about two thousand more than in 2013). 52.8% of the total number of domains was owned by natural persons. Legal persons were in possession of 47.2% of the .CZ domain names.
Most of the holders of the .CZ domains come from Prague, which is 363,499 registrations. A regional capital with the lowest number of registered domains (4,900) is Jihlava. Among the holders, who are based outside the Czech Republic, most can be found in the Slovak Republic (18,149), Germany (11,573) and the USA (7,256).
