Peering

CZ.NIC maintains autonomous system AS25192. This system includes mainly DNS servers and registry for domains .CZ a .0.2.4.e164.arpa. AS25192 is also tranzit AS for anycast instances of root server F and L and DNS servers of TLD .CL. This document, valid since October 1st, 2010, describes conditions for peering agreement with any potential partner that ask for peering.

Peering parameters

Peering is realized using protocol BGP in both versions of IP protocol (IPv4 and IPv6). From CZ.NIC side, BGP session is permanently held active and all maintainance outages are announced into appropriate mailing lists in advance.

  • AS-makro AS25192 describes our routing policy
  • PeeringDB contains more detailed peering parameters
  • Peering locations are DECIX, NIX and VIX
  • Contact for peering negotiation is peering@nic.cz
  • Contact for operational problems (NOC) is either email noc@nic.cz or phone number +420 222 745 111
  • CZ.NIC prefers peering using route servers where possible; direct peering is acceptable in special cases
  • CZ.NIC prefers MD5 authentication

Conditions:

Partner must:

  • have registered routing policy in IRR, he claims to route traffic only according this policy and that any changes of this policy will be announced in appropriate mailing lists in advance
  • have registered current contacts in IRR and operational contact (NOC) will be accessible in 7x24 mode (permanently)
  • accept all received prefixes according to agreed routing policy
  • follow rules of appropriate exchange point
  • keep BGP session active and announce any planned outages into appropriate mailing lists
  • immediately resolve problems in case of unplanned outage on his side

Partner must not:

  • propagate received prefixes without CZ.NIC approval
  • unsubstantiality split received prefixes

These conditions applies for both route server peering and direct peering. In case of repeated violation of these rules, CZ.NIC has right to disconnect peering permanently.
